Deep South Dance Young Choreographer Competition 2026

Calling all young choreographers — it’s time to get creative and show us what you’ve got!

Deep South Dance is incredibly excited to launch our very first Young Choreographer Competition, taking place on Saturday 29 August 2026.

Open to dancers aged 8–18 from across the Deep South Peninsula, this competition is about giving young dancers the opportunity to step into the role of choreographer, bring their own ideas to life and showcase their creativity on stage.

CREATE. CHOREOGRAPH. PERFORM.

Whether you’ve been creating dances in your bedroom for years or this is your first time putting your own choreography on stage, we want to see what you can create.

All styles of dance are welcome, with entries available for:

Solos
Duets
Trios
Quartets
Groups

Choreographers will have the opportunity to present their work in front of our esteemed panel of judges, with a range of prizes and awards up for grabs.

And there’s something extra special waiting for our winners…

🌟 We have been so lucky to secure the Masque Theatre as the venue, giving our young choreographers the incredible opportunity to see their own work performed on a theatre stage.
